Two Balls and a Scary Topic.
Let's face it, I have started this blog for a reason. A big reason (pun intended.) I'm scared but ready to be open and willing to share. I need something to keep me on track, I need friends knowing what I have committed to. I need inspiration, motivation and an occasional knock knock joke!
Before I get into all that I must share with you a story from tonight! In the toddler world when these precious young beings are beginning to form sentences, every mother finds herself repeating what the toddler has just said, and forming it into a sentence. (I know this because, I am a mother of a toddler, and I have ears listening to every other mother out there.) So this evening I took J to the gym with me so she could "drive, car, mommy!" (a plastic car in the child care center, not my car silly!) and I could get my work out on. As we are leaving the gym, a very large muscular man is walking towards us holding two basketball. Sweet little J practically yells "TWO BALLS MOM!" Being the good mom I am, I start forming her words into a sentence and out comes "Yes baby, that man has two big balls!" As the last word was coming out of my mouth, my eyes grew to the size of golf balls and I tried giving a little chuckle because I had no idea what else to do. I WAS DYING INSIDE! In fact as I type this out, I'm still dying. The guy let out a few quiet laughs as we passed, but I'm sure he was dying inside too! So moral of the story, next time you are putting your toddlers words into sentence form, think before you speak. Ok, well maybe we should all do that even if we don't have toddlers, but that's another story for another day!
Where were we? Oh ya, the scary topic that has brought me to start a blog and share it on my facebook! WHOA! It's no secret I've been overweight my whole life. I think I played every sport imaginable growing up, and heck I even majored in Health and Physical Education in college. I never let my weight hold me back from anything! But lets face it, after four years of college, four and half years of marriage and two babies growing inside my body, I HAVE HIT MY BREAKING POINT! I'm not doing any drastic diet, in fact I'm still nursing my baby so my caloric intake must be higher than I would like it, but i'm ready for a change. The change starts now. I have joined My Fitness Pal (my username is Daybydayna)and tracking has helped me so much this far! I love tracking, but it's still not easy for me to do everyday. I love working out, but find I lack motivation at the end of the day and would rather sit and stare at the walls(or the computer) after a long day with the kiddos than going and working out. But these are things that have got to change! So here I am... this is officially my journey, get ready to hear a lot about it!
