What a difference a year makes.

It popped up on my timehop that I had written about the "Big Elephant in the Room" exactly one year ago today, here on the blog. I can't believe it's been an entire year since we announced we were moving to Pittsburgh. WOW! WHAT A DIFFERENCE A YEAR MAKES!

I liked Houston, but was the first to admit I wasn't in love there. I made it home, but wasn't extremely sad to leave the heat, the crime, and the 20+ hour drive it took to visit my hometown. My friends, they are a different story! I have a hard time letting go of friends, maybe because I value friendship more than anything else... well you know, besides the typical things. I miss my Houston friends a lot, and really there's probably not a day that goes by that I'm not thinking about them. I had a good routine going there, the kids had tons of friends that they were growing up with... it was good.

Here we are a year later. We survived the selling of our first home and the buying and moving in of our second. We have manged to find routine in the mist of a chaotic first couple of months here. We have found friends, schools, doctors and dentist and we have officially experienced all 4 seasons "up North." We have played outside more than ever, where there are NO fire ants!, have totally renovated a bathroom, redesigned & maneuvered our "guest room", are currently managing through a kitchen remodel! I am coordinating a group of almost 40 women on a biweekly basis... and we are expecting our 3rd child. WHOA!

When it was first official that we were moving I kept repeating this quote in my head... "Home is wherever we are together!" I knew it was possible to make Pittsburgh my home, but I didn't realize how quickly it had become just that! I'm nervous for the day where we have to move again, but trying my hardest to live in the moment and not in the future. I want to enjoy my experiences here, take in the beautiful scenery I see everyday! I want to remember what it feels like when the pharmacy you call your prescription into tells you they deliver... FOR FREE! I want to lead this group of women with proficiency and diligence encouraging them to be the best moms they can be... by example. I want to capture the sweet memories of my children at such a fun and impressionable age. I want to enjoy the remainder of my pregnancy, and try my darnest not to dread the newborn/infant/toddler stage. I want to enjoy being together as a family of five, making memories and living life... wherever that may be, with whomever we might be sharing our lives with.

Moving is scary! But moving is very doable! I hope to remember that the feelings of helplessness the first couple of months being in a new location don't last for forever, and really Home IS Wherever We Are Together!!!
