Feeling a little more Human.
So I decided today I was going to become human again! My cousin Rachel hosts a blog called Floral and Fudge and today she was linking up with Kelly from Kelly's Korner talking about Make Up and her favorite products that she uses. I thought since I just bought some new products I've been dying to test out and have been needing to feel human again, today would be a perfect time to try a post of a different style. (and don't worry, I know my fashion sense is not worthy of talking about so we probably won't see any more post as such! :)
So let's get started.
This of course is post shower, but this is what I've looked like all week. Drained, unenthusiastic, no color and a bad case of the BLAHS!
So I started with some moisturizer. I found this moisturizer during one of my way too often trips to target to mosey the aisles in the late hours of the evening. Doing this often gets me into $ trouble, but the peace of mind is well worth it in my book. And, I found this AMAZING product that I love!
One thing I can tell you for sure about all my products that I use is that I'm cheap. I picked this up because it was on clearance and it looked like Moisture Surge from Clinique that I used to really like. This was a fraction of the cost, and I actually like it better!
Foundation is something that I play a lot around with. I have used Maybelline's Dream Matte Mousse for a long as I can remember wearing foundation. I love it so so so much, but because I am who I am, I need a little change in my life ever once in a while. Last year I spent entirely WAY too much money and tried the whole Bare Minerals thing, and really wasn't a fan. I went back to my Mousse but the other day after running out thought it was time again to try something else. This is what I found.
It's Physicans Formula BB All-in-one compact cream. Why did I pick this you asked? Well it's because they were having a "Buy one get one free" deal so I ended up with this and some new mascara I'll show you later. Today was the first day I used it, so far so good. We will see how it holds up, especially in the texas heat!
This is a must in my make up drawer!
I love me some bronzer and when I went on my Bare Minerals kick I sort of fell in love with their bronze but if we are being honest here when I run out, I'll probably look for something cheaper ;)
The whole bareMinerals set was a gift from my husband to me for my birthday last year. With the set he also gave me a Macy's gift card to do a complete re-do of my makeup drawer. With that gift card I bought two
products that I have LOVED!
Here is the blush I just purchased... and yes I did look for the cheapest one I could find. Used this today and loved it. It had a shimmer to it, was a perfect shade of pink for the summer and very cost efficient at only around $3.
Here was my other purchase with my gift card. Two Faced Return of the Sexy eye shadow. As you can see my oh so sweet and darling children have dropped this palette one too many times. I love every eye shadow color in here though, and they all have a touch of glitter which enough to make you feel pretty, sexy even (hints the name) but not enough to make you look like you take part in one of the many adult industries. :)
I don't often like to cheat on my Cover Girl Lash Blast mascara I have used for ages, but decided to be adventurous... plus remember it was buy one get one free if I bought the foundation? Yep! So I had to have a picture of my old trusty, but also showing you my new purchase and what I'm wearing in my 'after' pic.
I'm not a huge fan of eye liner but do wear it when I go out on date nights. Mainly no matter what I use it creases, but love the look for a night out so when I chose to use, I use Mary Kay black eyeliner. This is one Mary Kay product I always go back for.
Face is done, moving onto hair. I recently chopped 14 inches of my luscious locks (ha!) but I'm absolutely loving my short do! It's funky and fun and was a much needed change! My hair is pretty fine, especially when it's short and since I like to lean more on the side of funky with my short hair I usually try and pump it up giving it some much needed volume. Here are two products I turn to. I used to use Herbal Essence hair spray ALL THE TIME because it smelled so good. They have changed the formula so many times I'm in the market for something new. And since we are talking about smell here OMG this Ion Texturing Wax smells like bubblicious Watermelon Gum. YUMMMMMMM!!!! I love this product!
So after a quick blow dry and some hair products in place I end up with hair like this.... It's not a bad messy look, but let's face it, that volume would last all of 10 mins and I would end up having more of a wet dog look later in the day.
So with a few quick passes with my straight iron. (I use a GHD if you were wondering. And remember my mom is a beautician, I don't pay full price for this product, perks of growing up a guinea pig!) And there you have a folks!
I'm feeling a little more human today :)

LOVE it!!! You look so pretty and like you are feeling better!
