Hi! Here I am... I'm still here!
It's day 15 of my 24 day Challenge. I'm officially, OFFICIALLY down 6 pounds. Meaning I"ve not seen below this number for over a week, so it's for real GONE! Buh bye! Sa la vie! It feels amazing. I'm able to notice small changes in my appearance, of course I'd love for it to be more, but for now I'm celebrating 6 pounds!
Here are some FAQ I've been asked in regards to the Challenge.
What are you eating?
My Goal has been to follow Advocare's Suggested Meal Plan.
Breakfast consists of a Protein, Complex Carb and Fruit
Lunch consists of a Protein, Vegetables and a Complex Carb
Dinner consists of a Protein, Vegetables and a Complex Carb, only if needed.
I try to incorporate two snacks into my day to make sure I never get into the "I'm starving and now i'll stuff my face with everything in sight" mode. I've been looking at this as more of a lifestyle change rather than just a 24 day challenge. Personally I feel like this IS the way to eat.
Are you hungry?
I think I've only had a few days where I've thought, wow! I can't do this I'm SOOO hungry. It was mainly during the Cleanse Phase (1st 10 days) and I honestly don't think I was feeding my body enough calories. I want to ad a plug in here for Advocare AM bars. I bought these because I have a serious love/hate relationship with Breakfast. Somehow my kids always get fed, yet as I'm walking out the door I"m realizing I haven't eaten a thing. These bars rock! Don't get me wrong here, they aren't the best tasting breakfast you have ever had. In fact, if I grab a bar running out the door, I must make sure I have some water or spark to wash it down but they are very doable. (Apple Cinnamon flavor for those wondering.) The best part about these bars is they FILL ME UP! Like seriously not hungry until lunch time fill me up... I consider that pretty magical ;)
Have you cheated?
Bahhhhhh hahahahahahaha! I hope when people ask me this, it isn't a serious question! I am human remember? I super struggle with nighttime binge eating. If you know anything about addiction or eating disorders you know this doesn't just go away over night! When I started this challenge I created a group of friends to do the challenge along side with. They really are my motivation to stay strong during the night hours and not eat the kitchen sink... That doesn't mean though I haven't had a times where I just said "screw it." I ate pizza last weekend, 3 days in a row if anyone is counting. On the other day, I also made some very wise choices while eating on a 4 day family vacation. I even ordered my FIRST bun-less burger. It felt good making a smarter choice, however it WAS NOT easy to actually make that choice. The fried fish and chips were really calling my name. It's a struggle everyday, and everyday it gets a teeeeeeny, tiny, tiny bit easier. The pat on the back I can give myself for making a smart choice mostly overrides the desire to binge... but like I said, it's a really hard thing to overcome.
How's your energy?
If we are being honest here my energy is amazing! I really haven't ever felt better! I feel consistently more energized throughout the day which has been something I've really struggled hard with since having kids. Advocare's Spark drink has really played a part in the majority of this change, but I think adding so many important Vitamins/supplements to my life has brought my body more to life than it has been in a long long time!
I'm looking forward to completely the challenge, of course, but I've already order my next supply of MNS (multi nutritional supplements) which is what I'm taking currently throughout this "MAX phase." I feel to good to spot them, even if they are insanely expensive. And of course, my new canister of Spark should be here tomorrow too, so it will be a good day! ;)
And, just for kicks to add to my FAQs a quick "This or That" fitness style.

1.
Run/workout
in the heat and humidity or freezing temp and snow?
If you haven’t ever worked out in a Texas Summer, DON”T! It’s terrible! I’d so much rather my lungs be burning from being too cold, than trying to gasp for air feeling like I’m swimming underwater. Humidity SUCKS!

2.
Have
washboard abs or flat abs.
My vote would be for abs…any style!

3.
Dr.
Oz or The Doctors?
Neither, really? These guys hurt my ears with some of the things that come out of their months.

4. Cardio or strength?
5. Cravings: protein or carbs?Usually depends on the time of day, but it’s mainly carbs.
6. Jillian Michaels or Bob Harper?I’m going to have to go with Jillian on this one.
7. Frozen yogurt or Ice cream?Frozen yogurt makes me feel so much less guilty, so thus my
answer. I do love me some sonic M&M Blast though!
8. To train: Upper body or lower body?Upper body, only because I feel like I lack it much more than
lower so the feeling of accomplishment is really there afterwards.
9. Protein powder or food with protein?I love me some real food, but it’s also really nice to just “shake”
a meal and not put any thought into it!
10. Lunges or squats?Squats, lunges bring back horrible memories!
11. Sweet or salty?Oh sweet! Althought since I’m married to Mr. Salty I’ve been
noticing my craving moving in that direction.
12. Workout attire: cute or comfy?Comfy, no question about it. If I’m not comfortable I might at
well not even workout because I won’t get a good workout in.
13. Body Pump or heavy lifting?Body Pump, it’s a little more suiting to us ADD folk.
14. Yoga or pilates?Oh my dear Yoga! How I wish I had more time for you in my life
daily!
15. Nike or Adidas?JUST DO IT!
16. Running on the treadmill or outdoors?Outdoors, treadmills are so so so boring.
17. Whole Foods or Trader Joe’s?Whole Foods! Not a big TJ fan, but we don’t have either close so
maybe my answer should be neither?
18. Summer or Winter Olympics?Huge Swimming Fan, but Winter is a lot more exciting to watch.
19. Exercise classes or exercise videos?Videos don’t do me well. The majority of the time I press stop and
walk away.
20. Steamed veggies or roasted veggies?Who’s cooking? I prefer roasted, however every stinking time I try
and roast vegetables I set the fire alarm off….
